Purchase Terms and Conditions

General

You must be registered as a user in order to purchase tickets for The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet via our website. Any personal data that you provide to us will be processed in accordance with the provisions concerning privacy and right of access under Norwegian law. Your purchase will be completed once payment is received. You will receive a confirmation on screen, and you will receive a receipt and tickets by email within a few minutes.
A fee of NOK 20 is payable for each ticket. This fee is included in the price stated when purchasing your ticket.

Refunds

We will only refund tickets if we have to cancel or change the date of a performance. We will not issue refunds in the event of a cast change, delay or technical issue. We are unable to refund the cost of travel, accommodation, etc.
The statutory right to cancel distance sales and purchases that do not occur in a fixed location does not apply to theatre and concert tickets, in accordance with paragraph 22 of the Consumer Purchases Cancellation Act.
However, the right to cancel within 14 days of the date of purchase does apply to gift cards purchased online, in accordance with paragraph 21 of the Consumer Purchases Cancellation Act.

Lost Tickets

If you have lost your ticket, we can retrieve it as long as we have recorded who purchased it against a name, email and/or phone number. If you purchased your ticket online, you can retrieve it by logging in to your user profile and viewing your purchase history.

Ticket Changes

Tickets can be changed up to the day prior to the performance via the box office or by phone. You can change your ticket to the same performance on another day, or to a different production.

Ticket resale

If you buy or sell tickets through other channels than operaen.no, this is at your own risk. If you suspect that you have been scammed, we recommend reporting the matter and notifying the platform on which the purchase has been completed (e.g. finn.no)
It is forbidden to sell tickets to cultural and sports events at a higher price than applied to the ticket by the organizer.

Online Sales and Security

The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet uses the ticketing system Tixly to sell tickets online, while payments are processed by the payment solutions provider NETS. Your details are encrypted and comply with bank security requirements. You can pay using VISA or Eurocard/MasterCard. We also accept payment using Vipps.

Prices and Discounts

Prices and discounts are shown on the pages for each performance. If you have purchased your tickets using a personal discount (e.g., student, senior or Obos membership), you must show valid ID together with your ticket when entering the performance. If you do not have ID, you must pay to upgrade your ticket to a full price ticket at the box office.

Privacy

The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet online sales comply with applicable regulations in Norwegian legislation relating to privacy at all times. We do not retain sensitive data. We only retain information that is relevant to fulfilling our obligations to you as a customer. Act 2000-04-14 no. 31: The Personal Data Act: Chapter III, Section 18 grants you the right of access to any of your personal data retained by us. Registration

In order to ensure good service and satisfactory follow-up of purchases, we retain the following customer details: Name, postal address, telephone number, email address (used as a username when logging in). Additionally, we retain purchase details such as performance date, seating details, number of tickets, price, discounts, as well as methods of payment and delivery. We will also use your contact details if we wish to contact you for practical, non-commercial reasons: for instance, in the event of changes to the repertoire, changes to the start time of your performance or other practical information related to your visit. If you have subscribed to our newsletter, this information is also stored in the ticketing system. The customer details may also be used for statistics and analysis purposes that could help improve and adapt our products, services and systems.
You can choose whether to receive other information such as offers, campaign codes and/or information about future performances by signing up to our newsletter. This communication is based on previous purchases and/or the interests you select via your profile. By logging in to your account, you can also change your details (change of address or new phone number). Personal data collected for the use of our services are only shared with subcontractors who satisfy the personal data processing requirements of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.

Other

The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet reserves the right to amend pricing errors and events may sell out. We also reserve the right to amend seating locations within the same ticketing category, or to move you to another category and refund any difference in price. This will only be in exceptional cases, e.g., when filming is taking place, and you will be notified well in advance.
